The state of Texas is big — and so are the ambitions of its residents. One ambition that tops many of our Texas readers’ lists?
The ability to work from home.
So we thought we’d help out by rounding up 12 work-from-home jobs just for Texas residents.
On the list are both full-time jobs and part-time gigs — none of which require a college degree.
Keep reading to learn about our favorite work-from-home opportunities in Texas in 2016.
1. Watch Movie Previews
Many of you already use InboxDollars, but did you know it will pay you to watch movie previews, along with dozens of other videos? Plus, the company gives you $5 just for signing up.
You need to watch all of the shows in a specific playlist to earn your bucks, but you can easily do that while tidying up the house or making dinner.
InboxDollars lets you know how long the playlist runs before you start watching, and playlists range from a few minutes to about half an hour.
It’s possible to earn up to $225 a month watching these videos!

2. Live Out Your Interior Designer Dreams
If you spend your days watching HGTV and dreaming of being an interior designer, listen up. Artistic Window Designs needs an assistant to help with marketing and other administrative tasks.
You must live in the San Antonio area and be able to drive to meetings with clients. Though you can work from home, your schedule will vary each week.

3. Weigh In on Presidential Politics
What do you think of Donald Trump? Are you going to vote in the 2016 election?
If you’re a political nerd — or even if you’re not — you can make extra money by registering for Ipsos Panel, one of the country’s biggest polling companies.
To be eligible, you must be a registered American voter. Keep in mind, though, the surveys often have specific demographic requirements, so you won’t be eligible for all of them.

4. Tune Up Your Customer Service
Jam out at home by working with Queen City Music Studio, which needs someone to man its phone lines and customer base.
You’ll set your own schedule and work a minimum of 10 hours per week. To be eligible, you need some office and customer service experience, as well as a strong attention to detail.

5. Set Your Own Schedule as a Transcriptionist
If you want a work-at-home job that doesn’t need sales experience or a college degree, transcription might be a good fit. This gig requires listening to audio files and typing out what you hear; you can work as little or as much as you want.
Though the work can be repetitive (think: listening to the same audio files over and over), it pays well and offers a ton of flexibility.

6. Surf the Internet
I love this one, because you just set it and forget it.
Did you know Swagbucks will pay you every time you make a search on your computer or phone?
I usually earn about $100 a year in passive income doing this, plus they give you $5 just for signing up.
7. Make a Difference in a Child’s Life
If you want a job that makes a difference, check out this position with Aim, LLC. You’ll act as a mentor to parents of elementary schoolers, helping them be the best parents they can be.
You need mentoring experience, strong communications skills and a passion for education. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and Spanish language ability.

8. Journey into a Hospitality Career
One of the biggest perks of working for the Marriott call center? Discounted hotel stays.

9. Get Paid to Download Apps
Lots of companies, including Google, will pay you to install their apps on your cell phone. And there’s more: They’ll also pay you for every month you keep those apps installed.
Why? Because the apps collect data from your cell phone, which companies use to better understand web and mobile usage — gathering information such as what times of day people browse, how long they stay on websites and use apps, and what types of sites and apps are popular (or not).
Here are a few of our favorite companies that will pay you to download their apps:
Placed Panel: This one is for iPhones only. The Panel App collects your location data, and in exchange, lets you earn points which can be redeemed for PayPal or Amazon gift cards. You can earn around $50 a year.
Media Insiders Panel: This one pays you $5 a month and you can install it on up to three devices, making your total possible earnings up to $200 a year.
Nielsen Mobile for iPhone Users: If you have an iPhone, this Nielsen panel will pay you $50 a year to keep this app on it.
Nielsen Mobile Panel for Ages 45+: If you have a smartphone and are 45 years of age or older, this Nielsen panel will pay you $50 a year to keep this app.

Who out there gets a ton of junk mail — both physical and electronic? [Raises hand.]
Well, rather than throw it away, a market research company called SBK Center wants you to send it to them. In return, they’ll give you prepaid Visa cards, which work just like debit cards. Pretty sweet, huh?
