Google Panda Score Are Not Generated In Real Time

google panda

So now that Google Panda is a signal in the core algorithm there are lots of questions coming about.

One question I had was, when Google said there was a core update, like over this weekend, does that mean Panda is refreshed, since it is part of the core algorithm?

John Mueller said in a Google Hangout yesterday at the 28 minute mark that the Panda scores assigned to a site (yes, it is a site wide score) is still not done in real time and not done as part of the core algorithm run. So even with Panda being part of the core algorithm, it doesn’t mean Panda sites will see recovery when a core algorithm is confirmed to have been run by Google.

Here is the video embed at the start time:

Listen to how I drill John with questions there. I’ll try to pull more stories out of it because we are trying to understand what it means for Panda sites now, after it is part of the core algorithm. Does it differ for recovery or any other purposes or not since it is part of the core algorithm?

There is so much confusion out there, honestly, for good reason, but it really all doesn’t matter. The end game is all the same, make your site the best so Google would be embarrassed not to rank it well.
